The result was what everyone expected. The method was not.

The Seahawks improved to 8-1 in their quest for home field advantage in the NFC playoffs, beating the Buccaneers 27-24 in overtime.

Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka hit the game-winner on their first possession of overtime, from 27 yards out, to complete the biggest comeback in franchise history.

The home crowd helped Sunday, as the 0-8 Bucs came unraveled a bit at a time after taking a 21-0 lead in the second quarter. But as the Seahawks crept back into an ugly game slowly, the place got louder and louder and their defense applied pressure.

The Seahawks relied on running back Marshawn Lynch on a day when quarterback Russell Wilson was less than sharp (two touchdowns, but two interceptions). Lynch finished with 125 yards on 21 carries, and did most of the work in overtime.

The Seahawks showed some vulnerability, particularly in the passing game, where the absence of Percy Harvin and the loss of Sidney Rice left them looking for most of the day. The remaining receivers showed flashes, but there was no consistency among them.
