Texans let Case Keenum air it out early

Case Keenum AP

So much for the Texans leaning on their running game earlier to help Case Keenum get comfortable.

Keenum just aired on out for a 62-yard touchdown to Andre Johnson, giving the Texans a 7-0 lead over the Colts a minute into Sunday Night Football.

Keenum has the whole native-son vibe going, beloved in Houston for his days at the local college star for the Cougars.

But he just threw a big league deep ball, giving his side a shot of energy it needed in the worst way. Getting Andre Johnson his first touchdown of the year also helps, as did the blocked field goal from J.J. Watt that gave the offense another shot.

Kubiak should know better. If you listen to the fans, you’ll be sitting with the fans.
