NFL nullifies Bengals’ contract with Christo Bilukidi

The Bengals announced Monday that the NFL has nullified the team’s contract with defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi because Bilukidi “does not have the proper documentation to work in the United States at this time.”

Bilukidi, who is Canadian, does not have the needed work permit, the Bengals said.

Bilukidi, 23, notched five tackles and one sack in five games for the Raiders earlier this season. He was waived on October 23. According to the Bengals, Bilukidi had a work permit with the Raiders, but it “will not currently transfer.”

The Bengals are now left with an open roster spot. They placed star defensive tackle Geno Atkins on injured reserve Monday, leaving them with 52 players on the roster.
