Browns get Jason Pinkston back

Jason Pinkston AP

The Browns have been playing better, and now they’re getting healthier.

Today Cleveland activated offensive lineman Jason Pinkston from injured reserve/designated for return after he had missed the whole season so far with a high ankle sprain suffered in the preseason.

A 2011 fifth-round draft pick, Pinkston started all 16 games as a rookie and started six games last season before being placed on injured reserve after blood clots were found in his lungs. If he’s healthy and ready to play well, he can make the Browns’ offensive line better.

Coming off a win over the Ravens on Sunday, the Browns are now on their bye week and have to feel like they’re heading in the right direction. When they return next week they play at Cincinnati, and if the Browns win that game they’re in contention to win the AFC North.

Really, in contention? That’s stretching things a bit. They’ll be eliminated, by week 12.

It’s not stretching things at all. They will have swept the Bengals, they’d be 1 game back in the division, with 6 games remaining, and of the remaining 6 games, they”’ have 2 against the bottom dwelling Steelers, 1 against the Jaguars, 1 against the Jets, and 1 against New England. It’s not a stretch to say they would win 5 of those 6, ending up with a 10 & 6 record. Which would put them squarely in contention for the AFC North, as MDS stated.

If he plays right guard half as well as he played left guard we may be able to average more than 3 yards a carry.

Only In Cleveland do we get excited about the return of a 3rd string Lineman, Glad he’s healthy and back on his feet, but he is NOT going to fix the Running game, and most likely will hurt whats going on at this Juncture.

Jason, We think you need about 7 more games of rest..

As it even states in the article dummy he started all 16 games. He’s not a 3d string lineman, he’s 1st string. And he’s 100 times better than Schwartz or Lauveno (AKA the human turn styles)

Actually we are 4-5 and Cincy is 6-3. If they lose to the Ratbirds and we can pull off the upset, they would fall to 6-5…and we would be 5-5 with two wins against them ( 1/2 game back)

If thinks fall the over way, the Bengals can just about wrap up the division. They beat Balt. AND us to go to 8-3 and we would be in 2nd place at 4-6, 3 1/2 games back.

NICE to have important games in November! THANKS Chud! :) GO BROWNS!!!
