Jerry Jones feels DeMarcus Ware is ready to return

Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware objected to a three-to-four week timeline for his return from a strained quad, but his aversion to the diagnosis didn’t wind up meaning all that much against the Vikings last weekend.

Ware missed the victory over Minnesota, his third straight game on the sideline, but Ware may yet be proven correct if his objection was limited to the part where it was suggested he would miss a fourth week of action.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said, via Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, during an interview with KRLD on Tuesday that he expects Ware to make his return against the Saints this weekend. Getting Ware back would be a good thing for the Cowboys pass rush against a Saints line that sprang leak after leak against the Jets in Week Nine, assuming, of course, that Ware is healthy enough to go full speed in his attempts to bring down Drew Brees.

History says that an early week Jerry Jones proclamation can lose its strength as the week plays out, so it’s worth watching the practice reports out of Dallas once the Cowboys start working on Wednesday to see if reality backs up the owner’s predictions.
