Michael Crabtree cleared to resume practicing

Arizona Cardinals v San Francisco 49ers Getty Images

The 49ers have gotten to the season’s midway point with the league’s lowest-ranked passing game, and they’ve gotten there with a 6-2 record.

Now, they’re starting to get their players back.

After activating wide receiver Mario Manningham yesterday, the team announced even better news — that wideout Michael Crabtree has been cleared to resume practicing, effective today.

That’s a huge boost for the 49ers and quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has struggled at time in the first half because of the lack of qualified targets.

Crabtree tore his Achilles during OTAs in May, and now that he’s back, has a three-week window to be activated from the PUP list.

Getting him back at any point this season is only going to help, and make the 49ers more difficult to prepare for.

Crabtree, Manningham, Aldon Smith, Eric Wright and Tank Carridine all back in the same week for the stretch run? Your move Seattle….!

It’s good to see the Niners have survived a tough early schedule and are starting to get healthy. Not sure how Crabtree and Manningham will be, but it can’t be worse than what they have now. I can see Crabtree to return vs the Rams.

Can’t discount the game this week. Carolina is playing some good football. Plus, the Niners have tough games against similar built teams. Should be a good one.

With all these reinforcements coming back to the niners and Harvin eventually coming back to the Seahawks how could their dec 8th game be not moved to Sunday night?

Couldn’t be happier … how do you think most teams would do without two of their top wrs like we were without Crabby and Manningham? Also in the two losses we did not have our #1 receiving option in Vernon for all of the games.

Look out world, here come the 2014 Superbowl winning 49ers!!!

    Niners Forever

Reinforcements are on the way! Seattle remember next time you meet with the niners will be on the ROAD! No precious homefield 12thman, oh wait you were down 21-0 to the winless bucs AT HOME, nevermind LOL

Boldin, Davis, Crabtree, Manningham, Gore, Hunter….with Kap at the helm….Seattle just collectively peed a little.

49er fans can’t stop obsessing of Seattle these days. I don’t see one Seahawk fan post and I see 4 or 5 of you talking about them in this forum.

Crabtree is coming back form achilles injury. That takes some time to get back from. Any of you watch Terrell Suggs last year, it wasn’t until the playoffs he started getting some explosiveness.

Seahawks get back Russell Okung, Percy Harvin shortly. We didn’t have Brandon Browner, Bruce Irvin, Chris and the score was 29-3. We sit alone on top of NFC and the Panthers are going to put you to the test this weekend.

    ——————————————————

In those classic words “child please!” There’s not a single self-honest Seattle fan with real self worth who could honestly to say to themselves they feel comfortable playing on the road. Let’s assess what’s happened……Carolina (snuck by), Houston (gifted pick-6 by an imploding Schaub), St. Louis (Schotty shows why he was let go in NY as the OC….NOT scoring at the 1 yd line), lost to Indy in Indy and a near miss with the Bucs in OT (?!).

Seattle is going to get cleaned by NOLA.

By the time Dec. 8th rolls around it’ll be shown that Seattle is solely an at-home team. Bring your tackles back….Okung is a walking MASH unit and has been the first day he was drafted. Bruce Irvin NOT on PEDs…yawn…we’ll match that with a sober Aldon Smith and a Tank Carradine.

Are 49er fans focused? You bet and we’re not the least ashamed of it either because you better beg and plead the road to the SB goes through Seattle because we KNOW how Seattle plays on the road!

  22. beer hawk says: Nov 5, 2013 2:39 PM

Never in my life have I seen a fan based AND team so obsessed with another team.

49ers/Rams game: 9ers win one the road and their fans chant “Seahawks suck”

49ers/Jags Special on Discovery Channel: Players spend at least a quarter of the time talking to the camera about catching up to Seattle

Pick any 49ers post on this site: 49ers fans can’t stop talking about Seahawks (how many comments in this post alone?)

But then again… I get it. Last two Seahawks/9ers games have been absolute blowouts on national TV (71-19 combined score). If that happened to the Hawks, I’d be salty too.

  23. the3rdpower says: Nov 5, 2013 2:46 PM

49ers fans are funny. Happy you will have a more ready offense with Crabtree. I know the salt in the wound is still hurting from that beat down the Hawks gave you at the beginning of the season. They seem to have to post game voodoo hex for most teams. If you lose to Seattle you almost certainly lose your next game. A issue that the 49ers have felt this year. Needless to say, yup, the Hawks are winners on the road. They lost 1 this year to the Colts. The same Colts that handed the 49ers their butts. While the Hawks will be enjoying the interception prone company of the Falcon’s I do hope the Panthers give you a nice run. They are 4-0 as of late. See ya in a few (after you beat the Panthers and Saints let’s talk…)

  24. thebirdofprey2 says: Nov 5, 2013 2:50 PM

Oh this is funny because you fans actually believe the stuff you post here.

I said it before Seattle beat you down the last time and you all went into hiding from PFT. Football is a game of match ups. When a team doesn’t have to load the box against 49ers they struggle passing because Kaep still is basically a 1 read QB.

Your secondary is improved with Eric Reid but it still has Dontae Whitner who is walking TD. Carlos Rogers? Give me a break. What are Lynch stats vs 49ers these days? What are Frank Gores against Seattle?

We will see after this Sunday because I believe Carolina matches up very well against your team. Just like the Colts, I think they come into your house and leave your team whimpering.

  27. assuredmutualdestruction says: Nov 5, 2013 2:57 PM

Ha ha ha…glad to see the niner fans keeping it classy…lol

Don’t overlook those Panthers…that’s a potential heads up wildcard tie breaker. That Carolina D is for real.

  29. nopants39 says: Nov 5, 2013 3:11 PM

Good to hear. Hate when great players go down. As a Hawks fan I want the 49ers full strength for what should be an epic showdown.

I gotta say though, really 49er fans? You just can’t keep Seattle out of your minds and mouths, can you? You still have to beat the Panthers this weekend, maybe you should focus on that a little more? And to the clowns saying they barely beat the Bucs, you obviously didn’t watch. Pure domination after spotting 21 in the first half. It’s the NFL, all teams can win any weekend, and a comeback when down 21 is impressive, even against an “inferior” team. Most teams would have quit. Look at what it took for the Colts to beat the Texans. The Jets beat the Saints. Dallas scraped by the Vikings. You really are a silly, uninformed fan base. Hawks are 4-1 on the road, 8-1 on the year, are getting back Percy Harvin, Okung, and Breno back in the next couple weeks, they have dominated the 49ers the last 2 meetings, and barely lost in San Fran early last year when Dangeruss still had a leash on. Get a grip on reality please.

  30. allidoiswin55 says: Nov 5, 2013 3:13 PM

It’s funny before the season all we heard was how Seattle can’t win on the road. Now that their 5-1 on the road I guess they don’t win fashionable enough .

Your comments embarrass inner nation , bc you seem to forget your unbeatable miners have caught 2 a$$ whoopins in a row and barely escaped the one game you did win last year .

I respect the good majority of miner fans even homers , bull illogical arguments about how I feel uncomfortable with Seattle playing road games bc they aren’t blowing teams out it moronic.

First the hawks were done no favor by the league by scheduling so many road games against quality opponents at 10am which the nfl avg is west coast teams tend to win 20% of the time .

Also when comparing squads the Seahawks have played with 3-4 displaced offensive lineman . No team excels and were along with other deep teams like the miners could merely just survive which we have and still have a better record than your team. Do not be stupid enough to claim all teams are injured bs, their literally playing with 1 guy who starts every game and he’s a second year player converted DLINEMAN!! The rest are injured or playing another position , two of those lineman are pro bowlers and all pro quality, and any football fan knows the games are own at the lines.

Us as niners and Seahawks fans are
Able to nitpick about position groups bc were so talented that we can but when one teams missing nearly 80% of their line and finding ways to win despite playing 6-7 of the top front 7’s in all of football shows your ignorance.

The niners are getting healthy I’m not worried or upset I’m happy for them , however the Seahawks who haven’t gotten their bye yet will have their line back and key players by months end .

Stop embarrassing the smart logical joker fans and stop placing Seahawks fans in some delirious bubble .good luck and I’ll be at the stick for that game with my Seahawks green .

    Go hawks!!!

Great news! Crabtree really came into his own last year and will help bring back more of a downfield element to the offense. Really excited to see this team down the stretch and hopefully we can pull another deep playoff run and finish this time! Go Niners!

    —————————
Harvin hasn’t done anything yet. He’s basically been out the same amount of time as Crabtree this season. So, those two are a wash for this year regarding production. (what he did for he Vikes is irrelevant).

Lynch and Gore? They’re pretty even. Since acquiring Lynch in 2010:

    Gore in 51 games:
    Rushing: 3896 yds, 26 TDs
    Receiving: 896 yds, 3 TDs

    Lynch in 52 games
    Rushing: 4093 yds, 35 TDs
    Receiving: 743 yds, 4 TDs

Lynch’s all around production is better, but I don’t think either team would see a significant drop off in production if these two switched teams.

Thats great news! Im feeling pretty confident about the Dec 8th matchup as well. The fact is we have lost two of three to that team and id actually like to win that game a month away before talking smack about it.

As for this weekend Carolina is tough but this team has a great record with extended time to prepare. I think SF runs away with it in the second half.

  42. fantasyfootballfan2014 says: Nov 8, 2013 3:30 PM

    It won’t be much longer…
