The 49ers have gotten to the season’s midway point with the league’s lowest-ranked passing game, and they’ve gotten there with a 6-2 record.

Now, they’re starting to get their players back.

After activating wide receiver Mario Manningham yesterday, the team announced even better news — that wideout Michael Crabtree has been cleared to resume practicing, effective today.

That’s a huge boost for the 49ers and quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has struggled at time in the first half because of the lack of qualified targets.

Crabtree tore his Achilles during OTAs in May, and now that he’s back, has a three-week window to be activated from the PUP list.

Getting him back at any point this season is only going to help, and make the 49ers more difficult to prepare for.
