Nick Folk wins AFC special teams player of the week for second time this year

Jets kicker Nick Folk has yet to miss a field goal this season, a streak that has paid off handsomely for the Jets.

Last second field goals by Folk have handed the Jets their margin of victory three times this season, but it wasn’t heroics at the end of last Sunday’s victory over the Saints that made Folk the AFC special teams player of the week winner this week.

It was the four field goals that Folk made over the course of the afternoon, which bailed out an offense that couldn’t do anything to move the ball through the air and kept putting points on the board en route to a 26-20 victory. The win pushed the Jets to a 5-4 record and their style of play suggests that Folk will continue to play a big role in the team’s success as the year unfolds.

Folk is 23-of-23 on field goal attempts for the season and he previously won weekly honors from the league after making the game-winning kick against the Buccaneers in Week One.
