We’ve heard from Bills CEO Russ Brandon and from quarterback E.J. Manuel about the likelihood that Manuel will be making his return to the lineup for Buffalo in Week 10 and now we’ve heard from the coach of the team as well.
Doug Marrone met with the media Thursday and his message was right in line with Brandon and Manuel. Marrone said that the team wanted to see how Manuel responded from his return to practice before making any determinations about which quarterback would be starting on Sunday and that they’ve seen what they needed to see in order to move forward.
“E.J. coming back today wasn’t sore or anything and that’s what we were waiting for,” Marrone said, via the team’s website. “He took the majority of snaps in practice so barring any setbacks I’m planning on him going.”
If Thad Lewis also gets a clean bill of health after missing last week with a rib injury, Marrone said that the team would go with just Manuel and Lewis on the 46-man roster this Sunday. That would leave Jeff Tuel to be inactive a week after getting the start against the Chiefs.
