Hillis the Giants’ primary option again as guys get well

For weeks, the Giants wondered if they were going to have any running backs at all.

Now that they’re getting some of the regulars well, division of labor becomes a question they haven’t had to worry about too often.

According to Jordan Raanan of the Newark Star-Ledger, journeyman Peyton Hillis is expected to be the primary option for another week, with Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs each getting some work.

There will be a set plan,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said.

Hillis has provided solid work during the Giants’ two wins, but he’ll have some help. With Brown returning from a broken leg, and Jacobs practicing after missing two weeks with a hamstring injury, there are options.

“I’m pretty sure they are going to switch us in, switch us out,” Brown said.

Coughlin wanted to play wait-and-see on both the guys coming off injuries, not wanting to throw too much at them after extended layoffs.
