Jason Pierre-Paul: Raiders need to bring ‘A’ game to stop me

Among the many things missing from the Giants this season has been dynamic play from defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who has been ordinary, at best, on the field this season after undergoing back surgery during the offseason.

Pierre-Paul and the Giants were on a bye this week and return to action against the Raiders this Sunday. Pierre-Paul said Wednesday that he feels like it is high time for him to “just go out there and handle my business,” but not before talking up all the things he’s going to do in Week 10 after failing to do them for most of the first eight weeks of the season.

“For the past three years, I’ve been rushing the passer, you just see fear in the quarterback’s eyes. You see fear in the tackle’s eyes. They respect me. They know when they hit the field, they have a problem. And this week, they’re gonna have a problem,” Pierre-Paul said, via the New York Daily News. “Come this Sunday, I’m rushing the passer, stopping the run. I’m gonna be all over that field. They better bring their ‘A’ game, that’s what I can tell you.”

The Giants’ defense has keyed their two-game winning streak and the unit would certainly benefit from a return to form for Pierre-Paul if they are going to continue pushing their way back from an 0-6 start to respectability and relevance in the NFC. Seeing as how the man predicting great pain for the Raiders said two weeks ago that he won’t be 100 percent until next season, however, it’s probably best to wait for him to actually play well rather than just take his word for it.

This is pretty low of him to say, when you consider the Raiders are down to 4th and 5th string players on their O-line.

You don’t run your mouth at 2-6. In fact, it’s not such a great idea at 8-0.

Apparently nobody informed this team of their record. They still talk like they are undefeated. Not to mention you have 1 sack JPP. Shut up.

Actually Jason, with the level that your game has dropped off, the Raiders probably need to just bring a C- game.

If the Giants make the playoffs, the NFC East is truly doomed…

JPP’s dominance is truly relected in the Giant’s record. Has he done anything since his rookie season when he was the beneficiary of teams doubling Tuck and Osi?

  11. r81ders says: Nov 7, 2013 8:20 AM

I guess all he got left is to run his mouth that’s what last place big ego teams do. Troy couldn’t catch Pryor lets see if you can with that beat up line.

    Hey JPP:

Why don’t you do something productive on the field this season before you go talking trash to an opponent who is next on our schedule?

    Love, NYG fans everywhere.

Actually we’re getting Gurode and Watson back so unless Coughlin lines Pierre over G Lucas Nix, he will probably not have a good day.

    2-6. Paul-pierre isn’t that good.

  18. toybkshr says: Nov 7, 2013 9:10 AM

Gotta wonder – his back surg was same as Gronk’s, might he be playin at a higher level if he had taken another 3-4 weeks off at the start of the season?

Pryor rushes for 188 yards, throws for 215… Raiders win 23-20 on a 54 yard Janikowski FG with 15 seconds left.
