Jets running back Mike Goodson has been indicted on a charge that he possessed firearms and illegal ammunition, the prosecutor’s office in Morris, New Jersey, announced today.
The indictment stems from the May 17 incident in which New Jersey State Police found Goodson and Garant Evans, who was also indicted, in a car that had a Taurus .45 caliber handgun loaded with a hollow point bullet.
Goodson was indicted on charges of second degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth degree prohibited weapons and devices.
Following the arrest the Jets kept Goodson away for most of the offseason, and he was suspended for the first four games of the season. When he finally made his Jets debut in October he played well, but he was lost for the season to a knee injury in his second game.
