Josh Freeman, not inactive

Four days ago, Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman was a healthy scratch.  Tonight against Washington, he’s healthy and active.

Freeman’s name isn’t among the seven Vikings who are officially inactive:  cornerback Chris Cook, safety Jamarca Sanford, running back Matt Asiata, tackle Phil Loadholt, tackle Charlie Johnson, tight end Kyle Rudolph, and defensive tackle Fred Evans.

Freeman has appeared in one game during his month in Minnesota, a 40.6 passer rating debacle against the Giants.

With starter Christian Ponder and backup Matt Cassel also active, it gives the Vikings three quarterbacks on the Thursday night roster.  Three and a half, if receiver Joe Webb is included.

And as the saying goes, a team that has 3.5 quarterbacks has no quarterbacks.

I guess I’ll root for the V’s over the R’s.

The Vikings wish they Cousins or Grossman not to imagine Mr. Griffin the 3rd. #ThankGodImaRedskinsfan

    so whose the starter

Rather have Cousins than RG3. Cousins is a solid QB with a career ahead of him, RG3 is a play away from “whatcouldhavebeen”.

Redskins fans shout the loudest, but are still never heard..

good thing the vikings move to a stadium that only seats 50,000 next year because if they continued in a 65,000 seat stadium, they’d lose atleast 10,000 maybe even 20,000 people.

    go gophers!!!!

Bonehead move signing Freeman, millions wasted. But I bet he’ll be signed by the Cardinals next year.

Active or inactive still equals ineffective
P.S. – still not missing you in T.B.

The headline should read, “Josh Freeman, not asleep.”

  15. matt24bucs says: Nov 7, 2013 10:19 PM

And to think that. Some idiots in Tampa, including radio talk hosts, were screaming for the owners of the Buc’s to give Freeman a hundred million dollar contract before the season started. Makes Schiano look like a genious!

Making the decision to start him against the Giants even more head scratching…

  17. bobnelsonjr says: Nov 8, 2013 3:33 AM

Has the only winning QB on their roster been bullied and unfairly discriminated against?

There is no justification at all for Matt Cassel not to start. Unless of course the team has no interest in attempting to win games.

The only reason he was active was because the Vikings have so many injuries they could only dress 42 players for the game. They should have had him play safety.
