Josh Freeman, not inactive

Freeman

Four days ago, Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman was a healthy scratch. Tonight against Washington, he’s healthy and active.

Freeman’s name isn’t among the seven Vikings who are officially inactive: cornerback Chris Cook, safety Jamarca Sanford, running back Matt Asiata, tackle Phil Loadholt, tackle Charlie Johnson, tight end Kyle Rudolph, and defensive tackle Fred Evans.

Freeman has appeared in one game during his month in Minnesota, a 40.6 passer rating debacle against the Giants.

With starter Christian Ponder and backup Matt Cassel also active, it gives the Vikings three quarterbacks on the Thursday night roster. Three and a half, if receiver Joe Webb is included.

And as the saying goes, a team that has 3.5 quarterbacks has no quarterbacks.
