Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham aren’t the only receivers the San Francisco 49ers expect to return to the lineup in the coming weeks.
Rookie Quinton Patton has been sidelined since Week 4 with a broken foot suffered against the St. Louis Rams. The 49ers have kept Patton on their active roster in hopes he’d be able to return to the field this season.
According to Bill Williamson of ESPN.com, Patton has recently shed his walking boot and head coach Jim Harbaugh is confident Patton will make it back.
“I anticipate he’ll be playing again,” Harbaugh said of the promising rookie. “I think ahead of schedule for Quinton.”
The addition of the three receivers to the 49ers attack will be a big boost for a team that has already won their last five games by at least 12 points or more.
