Bernard, Gresham questionable for Bengals

Bernard AP

As the Bengals prepare to try to beat the Ravens in the first of two 2013 meetings, they’ll definitely be shorthanded on defense.

They also may be shorthanded on offense.

Running back Giovani Bernard (ribs) and tight end Jermaine Gresham (groin) are both questionable for the game.

Bernard injured his ribs eight days ago, against the Dolphins.  Gresham suffered his injury during practice this week.

It’s still worse on defense.  Apart from cornerback Leon Hall, safety Taylor Mays, and defensive tackle Geno Atkins, all of whom already are out for the year with injury.  Out for Sunday’s game will be linebacker Rey Maualuga (knee) and defensive tackle Devon Still (elbow).  Linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring) is doubtful.

Oddsmakers still have Bengals as a 1 point favorite on the road. BAL needs to give the world a reality check, or accept how bleak their present reality is.

This could be fun or disturbing.

2nd rd pick and run stuffing DT with pass rushing skills Brandon Thompson from Clemson replaces Atkins…He is currently the 2nd strongest on the team behind Atkins… Both Gio and Gresham are expected to play with Gio having a better chance than Gresham… Bengals fans actually want Gresham to sit a week and watch Alex and Eifert work. He is making way too many mistakes…If he doesn’t hold on Jones 50 yarder they would be 7-2. Taylor was a sub not a starter and Crocker and Boley will play what he was doing no drop off there…Devon played about 10 plays a game…wont be missed… Its not as bad as it seems..

Gresham has been questionable at best with his play this year – he is a 15 yd killer penalty and/or timely drop or fumble waiting to happen every week.

The Bengals are still the Bengals! If they had a real QB I’d have more faith.

Before knowing this, I’ve been saying all week PIT takes this one.

Yeah I know. A QB like the one that ended your Steelers playoff hope in 2012. Hahaha! Sure!

Bernard is playing. Just heard Marvin on radio.

Skirt: Yep, the Bengals are still the Bengals. Playoff three out of four years, and soon to be four of five. When you think Bengals, just think playoffs. You’ll be able to watch them there, again, this year… But don’t worry, some day, you guys will get back.

I’m an idiot. No question about it.

When I think Bengals, I think “Losing In” PlayOffs! They haven’t won a Single PlayOff Game in over 20 Years!

Should be a good game. I cant wait to watch.
