The NFC’s reigning Defensive Player of the Week may not get a chance to defend his award.

Bears defensive end Shea McClellin is doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. Detroit with a hamstring injury, head coach Marc Trestman said Friday, per multiple media outlets, including ESPNChicago.com.

McClellin was limited with the injury on Thursday.

The Bears’ starting left end, McClellin garnered the NFC honor after notching a career-high three sacks in Monday’s win at Green Bay. On the first of his sacks, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone. McClellin would add two more sacks of backup Seneca Wallace in the fourth quarter.

Cornelius Washington and David Bass are listed as the Bears’ reserve defensive ends.

Just find the toughest members of the Cubs and Blackhawks and stick them on the line. Somebody has to do it.

So he blew his load against GB and got hurt. Not like he was going to do anything anyways. Wasn’t this guy a first round pick? Where’s Carini been? Miss that dude.

It’s Carimi, and I think he’s in Tampa Bay. What’s Carimi got to do with McClellin other than the fact that they were both 1st round Bear draft choices in consecutive years?

You mean Gabe Carimi, the offensive lineman who spent his tenure in Chicago either injured or being bad at pass blocking?

Funny how NFC north teams are ecstatic because Rodgers is out for a month. It was the best thing that could have happened to you. Without him, you have a slight chance to win a division title now. Isn’t that sad that you’re only good because another teams best player is out? Of course, you’ll all find a way to screw it up, and when Rodgers, or as some of you children like to call him, Erin, comes back, you’ll be back to 2nd and 3rd place and lucky to get into the playoffs. Oh how it must suck to be a Chicago or Detroit fan. At least Minnesota fans don’t have to get excited for anything this year with Rodgers out.

McClellin has vindicated himself by having one good game and now can be injured for the rest of his career.
