Bengals look lost on offense, trail Ravens 17-0

Elvis Dumervil, Andy Dalton AP

The Ravens are up 17-0 at halftime over the Bengals, but mostly, the Bengals have put themselves in this hole.

An offense that recently looked to have a wealth of weapons can’t find any of them at the moment.

Cincinnati has just 102 yards at halftime, with quarterback Andy Dalton off to a particularly miserable start.

He’s just 8-of-21 passing for 47 yards with an interception, finding nothing downfield. He’s completed one pass longer than 7 yards all day, that a mighty 14-yarder.

The Ravens have played solid defense, and got defensive tackle Haloti Ngata back on the field after a knee sprain earlier.

No problem, the red popgun always comes up huge in big games.

    Said no one, ever, anywhere.

Marvin Jones is a #3 quality wide receiver

    Mohamed Sanu is TERRIBLE.

Undependable, non-explosive Jermaine Gresham is OUT this week.

GET ANDY DALTON A REAL #2 wide receiver.

    Dalton confuses me.

The Bengals bazillion penalties aren’t helping them either. If this is the best team in the AFC North I feel pretty good about the Ravens season not being lost yet. Ray Rice still going nowhere doesn’t look like it will change any time soon.

Absolutely embarrassing. I can’t believe this team was Super Bowl favorites at one point. Time to draft a QB. Time to fire Marvin Lewis

  6. doctorrustbelt says: Nov 10, 2013 2:48 PM

Marvin Jones second best career game = 3 rec. – 71 yards

    Mohamed Sanu’s best career game = 4 rec. – 68 yards

Jermaine Gresham led NFL tight ends in dropped passes last year. This year… he has dropped less and been penalized more times in important situations. Gresham is a liability.

average andy is being totally outclassed by elite joe

    ==================

Watch the routes of every receiver on every play.

A.J. gets doubled or tripled, Marvin doesn’t consistently get separation, and Sanu is useless.

  9. jcioffi1485 says: Nov 10, 2013 2:54 PM

indeed…..no separation from the receivers. add to this, a QB with no fastball is a big, big problem

As much as I dislike undependable and non-explosive Jermaine Gresham…. he is a valuable player since he gives another receiving option for Dalton (even though you can’t trust Gresham’s hands, brain, or effort)… but…. as long as you can’t depend on Jones and Sanu getting separation consistently…. Gresham is a necessity (… but he’s OUT this week).

Yup he he is but jump ball Joe is very average at best.

  16. randomfan999 says: Nov 10, 2013 3:40 PM

The Bengals defense has been playing well. It’s hard to overcome that many offensive mistakes in that many poor positions on the field. The offense looks like the exact opposite of what it was 2 weeks ago. As I’m writing this, the Bengals defense just picked Flacco, so there you go

  17. doctorrustbelt says: Nov 10, 2013 3:54 PM

    “ELITE” joe = 93 yards – 2 td – 2 int – 52 QB rating

Trying to figure out how the absence of TWO DEFENSIVE PLAYERS is contributing to the Bengal’s non-existent offense.

Another loss to a weaker team in Cincinnati’s own division. A loss is bad enough. Cincinnati is a better team than being coached. Marvin Lewis is long long past due to be dismissed. If it comes to O/T, know
how to win. Cincinnati is going back to losing by just a little bit. Little bits don’t count for dittaly squat. Who called that play on a -11 moving the ball in O/T?

  23. scoobies05 says: Nov 10, 2013 6:23 PM

but hes got a ring. average joe has more superbowl wins that abysmal andy has playoff wins
