Break up the Jaguars: Beat Titans to get first win

Maybe the Jaguars should schedule the Titans more than twice a year.

The Jags took advantage of a sloppy Titans offense to take a 29-27 win on the road, improving them to 1-8.

In addition to four turnovers, the Jags forced Titans quarterback Jake Locker from the game with a foot injury. While the Titans (4-5) didn’t look good with him, they looked perhaps worse without him.

When blitzing Jaguars cornerback Will Blackmon stripped the ball away from backup Ryan Fitzpatrick and returned it for a touchdown, it was the perfect finish for a team that has waited a long time to taste victory.

The Jaguars hadn’t won since Nov. 25, 2012, when they beat the Titans at home. Since then, they had lost 13 straight, and had lost 20 of their last 21 prior to Sunday.

That leaves the 0-8 Buccaneers as the league’s only winless team, heading into Monday’s game with the Dolphins.

The Jags blew their chance at football immortality. The Bucs will surely win a game with the talent they have and the Lions should breathe just a little bit easy today knowing they are safe.
    I hate this.

Was at the game rooting for the Jags, boy are they awful, Henne is the pits, makes no plays at all, none. Very lucky win today, Titans holding in the end zone for a safety, then the strip-six. Jags need a real quarterback asap, period end-of-story, 2014 draft can’t get here soon enough.

The titans lost because they overlooked the jags. The titans shouldn’t have lost this easy win game especially when the colts today as well.

Congrats to Gus. He is really a good coach. Now we can put 0-16 talk to rest peacefully.

What does it mean “Break up the Jaguars” ? Is that some kind of urban phrase?

Lol Titans fans making excuses. Your team IS WORSE than the Jags. Deal with it.

the titans sucked for sure, but it didn’t help that the Jags got 9 pts after complete BS calls. roughing the passer on pollard on 3rd down that led to a Jags TD, and the dude that downed the ball on the 1 yd line with his foot on the goal line that led to a safety. crappy titans play and even worse officiating gave the Jags their first win. a win on technicalities is still a win. way to go titans, you perrenial bums.

Titans need to tank the season, move up in the draft, and clean house of the coach, OC, and front office.

OK Bucs, you control your destiny. Don’t screw it up by winning a game and losing the Bridgewater Bowl.

Nice win. Jags had to beat the Titans AND over come the horrible play of Dolphin reject Chad Henne.

Way to go Gus! Now you’re only 2 wins away from being the third winning-est coach in franchise history

@titaniksigh – the Safety was for holding in the end zone. The roughing call was legit. Thanks for playing though.

Actually I did. He is now posting rooting for the Chargers. Go to the forum where the Broncos beat the Bolts, and he is on there rooting regarding Peyton’s ingjury. If you recall, he said a few weeks ago after the Browns beat the Bengals that he is a Browns fan. Now he is a Chargers fan. And this…after he jumped off the Raiders bandwagon.
