Injured Cutler exits, McCown takes over for Bears

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is back from a groin injury, but another injury has forced him to leave today’s NFC North showdown with the Lions.

Cutler appeared to be bothered at times by both his groin and an injury to his left hand, but the early indications are that it was an ankle injury that finally forced Cutler to the sideline.

Backup Josh McCown, who played well last week in a win over the Packers, took over with the Lions leading the Bears 21-13.

At the two-minute warning, the Bears need McCown to work some magic, or fall behind the Lions in the division.

Jay Cutler on a wheelchair is still better than Scott Tolzien & Seneca Wallace

I think Cutler really earned some respect after this game. The way he stayed in there while getting brutally pounded all game was gutsy. I will never call him Quitler again.

That may be true. But look at the bright side – the Bears lost today. Think of it as a consolation prize.

Cutler was hurting the whole second half…McCown should have been in sooner. And as well as our defense played overall, they couldn’t stop Detroit when it was still a 1-point game.

Softer than a new born baby’s bottom.

All Cutler did today was hurt his team going forward. When they miss the playoffs, fans of Duh Bears should remember how Cutler and Trestman combined to make one of the dumbest decisions for this franchise. Intelligent decision making should have trumped ego and pride. Bears failed again.

Cutler is gonna be a free agent 2014. It’s gonna be interesting what Bears are gonna do.

Fairly similar to Duh Packers and Ted Thompson not having a reliable back up QB.

    Talk about a terrible decision.

Best of luck battling it out for last place in the division.

In Ted we trust…what a joke.

Cutler cost us another game once again. Mccown should of started today.

The softest player in the league. Even Martin would bully him.

I’m just joking. He’s a tough SOB. I’d like to see the people on here tell him to his face that he’s soft, then go under center and throw in the face of 300 LB linemen trying to take you down.

Josh McCown in a wheelchair is still better than Jay Cutler. As a Packers fan, I pray the Bears give Quitler a mega contract in the off season.
