It’s been a rocky first trip on NFL waters for Packers quarterback Scott Tolzien, but he’s got his team within a score at the half.

Tolzien drove the Packers 72 yards in 1:14 to set up a Mason Crosby field goal just before the second quarter ended to make the score 10-3 Eagles at Lambeau Field. Tolzien had two other drives that looked like they’d end up in points but he threw an interception in the end zone on one and Crosby missed his second field goal of the game to leave the Packers scoreless until the final seconds of the half.

Tolzien’s interception was a poor throw behind Jordy Nelson that Brandon Boykin returned into Green Bay territory. Alex Henery missed a field goal of his own, however, and the Eagles couldn’t turn it into points. Tolzien is 15-of-23 for 184 yards overall, including a 36-yard gain to Jarrett Boykin that looked like it was not a catch and was somewhat strangely left unchallenged by Eagles coach Chip Kelly.

The Packers have ridden Eddie Lacy hard after Seneca Wallace’s injury, allowing them to hold onto the ball for 20 of the game’s first 30 minutes. The Eagles hit a 55-yard play to DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy’s run well, but there hasn’t been much else going on for the Eagles on offense during their limited opportunities.
