Browns lose Quentin Groves for season

Quentin Groves AP

The Browns’ pass rush will take a hit with outside linebacker Quentin Groves out for the rest of the season.

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski confirmed today that Groves needs ankle surgery and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Groves followed defensive coordinator Ray Horton from Arizona to Cleveland this offseason, and he got off to a good start and had a sack in Week One. But in Week Two he suffered the ankle injury that has plagued him throughout the year.

Now Groves’s season has come to an end, with a stat line consisting of just four total tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

Chill out and recover, Quentin. You’ll be back. C-Town’s defense has been a mark of pride for us for some time. Maybe next year we’ll have a QB and an offense that can give our boys on the defensive side the points they deserve.

Hell, if we just had an offense that could put 20 points on the board every week, we’d be in the playoffs pretty damn often.

He has 8.5 sacks in 6 seasons. Not that big of a hit to the Browns’ pass rush imo

Let’s this ridiculous injury bug out of our systems right now Brownies. Never seen anything like this year when it comes to overall injuries and league-wide ACL or lower body injuries. OIC.

Deepest front 7 in the NFL. Next man up…

Kruger is playing as we had hoped, Mingo is developing quickly, and Sheard has made the transition to OLB nicely. Add to that good play from the defense overall and this will not be a painful loss.

Quentin Grove is a nobody on an irrelevant team. Browns are basement dwellers as usual. Enjoy watching the Ravens win another SuperBowl!

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that Kruger has been a pretty big disappointment so far. His impact hasn’t justified his salary.

The only good things from Cleveland are things that leave Cleveland, not things that go to Cleveland.

Baltimore will be back to pick up the Rockn Roll Hall of Fame, that is the only thing left to take.

Cleveland likes to dis Flacco as overpaid.

Ummmm Kruger was more against your salary cap than Flacco.

Brownies….Really..Who thought that was a good idea to call a football team Brownies. Druggies to play off the Rock and Roll HOF would be better.

What a big loss? Quentin Groves is as soft as a puppy. We the Jags gave up a pick to move up becoz of that Stoopid GM Gene Smith. Browns should be ok unless they depend on the back-up for the back-up.

Browns will beat the Bungles this week.

Like I’ve said, a little taste of victory and these Browns fans’ egos grew out of control. Your D is good but the offense is not. I’m not one to predict my team’s wins and losses but there’s no way the Bengals lose both to the Browns this season. Just won’t happen. Sorry fellas. Browns won’t be a playoff team until they get a real QB. Not a retread or overhyped draft pick.

Ummm. Wait till Flacco’s cap hit is $14.8 million next year, $14.55 in 2015…I hope your sitting down for this….$28.55 million in 2016! Kruger is part of a unit, not just one guy, that is 4th in the league in total defense, and in the top 5 in sacks.

The Ravens defense is 14th, and Their offense had what, 185 total yards in just under 5 qtrs of play?

This just in, a unibrow = elite. Ravens suck. You all think you have the greatest quarterback, but how great is he putting up Weeden numbers…. Just saying

I wouldn’t be so confident there. Andy Dalton plays like crap when he faces any sort of a pass rush as evidenced by his 5 INT day against the Ravens. Look for the Browns to bring the house a lot and Dalton and the rest of the Bungles to go down in defeat against the Browns this Sunday.

What, Browns fans aren’t aloud to enjoy a tiny taste of success?
Truth is, they are probably the most level-headed fans in the league. We know what our team is good at (I’m talking to you Ravens fans).

Here is some more truth for you, I wouldn’t substitute any other team’s front 7(depth included) with the Browns front 7. And I am willing to wager there are A LOT of front offices that are envious of what Cleveland has going on there.

If your team(the majority of the league) is not one of them, as a fan, I would be fearful of the minds running said team.

The Browns aren’t perfect by any stretch, but they are “top 5 in the league” set at d-line and linebacker. If you don’t realize that, you aren’t paying attention. And oh yeah, they are YOUNG, so they are only going to get better.

I am hoping for a close exciting game.
