Jets getting Santonio back, Winslow activated

The Jets appear be getting some targets back for quarterback Geno Smith.

Jets coach Rex Ryan just told reporters that wide receiver Santonio Holmes should be available when they play the Bills, after missing the past five games with a hamstring injury.

“I think he’ll play,” Ryan said of Holmes.

The Jets failed to reach the 200 passing yard plateau in four of the five games Holmes has missed.

The team also announced that tight end Kellen Winslow has been moved back to the active roster after his four-game suspension, and that safety Rontez Miles was released to make room for him.

Winslow was suspended for violating the league’s performance enhancing substances policy, which he blamed on allergy medicine.

What about Brad Smith? When are they getting him back?

Holmes and Winslow? As a Jets fan, all I can say is, In all likelihood, with Winslow’s bad knees, Holmes proving to be injury-prone, and the $ the Jets will save, they won’t be with the team next season anyway.

Uh oh Jets are looking as though they might make a playoff push. If the season ended today they would be the #6 seed. Schedule looks pretty favorable too.

Of course there is still alot of football to be played.

Both are so injury prone the might not even last one game. I don’t think Jets fans should get too excited about this just yet.

This is huge. Getting Winslow and a healthy Cumberland back are HUGE for Geno. He loves throwing to both his TE’s. And even if Santonio needs 1 more week, Jets can beat the Bills without him…once Holmes is back he makes an impact and Geno needs him now that Kerley is hurt.

Jets come back from the break @ Buffalo, this is a game the Jets should, and need to win. That will give them a lot of confidence going into Bal which is never easy. If running game continues to excel, defense is stout, Nick Folk is perfect, Jets could potentially be a 10 win team.

Who said Jets fans were excited? Holmes was booed opening day when he took the field.
