The Falcons’ season got a little more lost on Sunday when the Seahawks thrashed them 33-10 in Atlanta in a game that didn’t even feel like it was that close.

During the contest, tight end Tony Gonzalez briefly left the field after injuring a toe on his left foot. Gonzalez quickly returned to action, but said after the game that he wasn’t sure how the toe would feel on Monday.

“We’ll see. I played on it,” Gonzalez said, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “Wasn’t able to go full speed, but we’ll see how it goes the next day. Usually when you have injuries, you can get through it through the game. Then the next day after it calms down and swells up a little bit, then that’s when the trouble starts. So, we’ll see how goes. Tomorrow, I’m going to wake up, and hopefully it’s not that bad.”

An injury that knocks Gonzalez out for any period of time would be the latest negative turn for Gonzalez in a final season that was supposed to be filled with a lot more highlights. Gonzalez has missed just two games over his long career and hasn’t missed one since the 2006 season, so chances are good that he’ll find a way to remain on the field if tests don’t turn up an injury that makes his presence an impossibility.
