Cowboys will be without Justin Durant for 3-4 weeks as well

When it rains at linebacker for the Cowboys, it pours.

Nick Eatman of the team’s website reports that owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that linebacker Justin Durant will miss up to a month after suffering a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Saints. That’s the same amount of time that Sean Lee is expected to miss with his own hamstring issue, leaving the Cowboys shorthanded at linebacker for the near future.

The Cowboys have a bye this week and then return to action against the Giants in Week 12 in a game that could have major implications for the NFC East race. They’ll follow that up with a Thanksgiving date with the Raiders, so it’s not like they’ll be facing offensive juggernauts in either game.

Of course, the Cowboys defense hasn’t been good enough this season to be overflowing with confidence against any opposition. That’s doubly true when you’re down a pair of starting linebackers.
