Kyle Williams on his way out of San Francisco

Kyle Williams AP

Good luck getting 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh to talk about Kyle Williams now.

According to multiple reports, the 49ers are releasing the receiver/return man today.

Williams had lost his return duties to running back LaMichael James, and with Mario Manningham back and Michael Crabtree hopeful of returning, his role in the offense was shrinking.

He’ll be best remembered for his pair of miscues in the 2011 NFC Championship Game, which allowed the Giants to go onto the Super Bowl.

what allowed the giants to go onto the super bowl was alex smith being 1 out of 13 on third downs.

He’s probably so happy to leave a declining team like San Francisco.

Good riddance. I love and support every player that wears a Niners uniform, but this is one guy who brought nothing to the table. It was time to go. It was either him or Jon Baldwin to go, and Baalke made the right decision.

Alex Smith was 1-13 on 3rd downs AND THEY WERE STILL IN THE GAME…now this point goes along with the argument that Eli Manning is a fraud!!!

I get cutting Williams, but activating LB Nick Moody in his place on the roster instead of a replacement WR?

Harbaugh and Baalke, we really hope you know what you’re doing…..

Moody is a special teams demon, and we do have a replacement coming and his name is Michael Crabtree, the best offensive weapon we have.

Thinks for the fumbles Kyle. You had a shot, and could not get open. Not to mention all the fair catches.

When Jonathan Martin winds up in San Fran, Jim Harbaugh should be put under a big-time investigation for tampering.

You just know that when Jim’s brother John Harbaugh sent Bryant McKinnie to the Dolphins to take Martin’s job, Jim was on the phone to Martin saying, “if you can get out of your contract, I’ve got a job for you back in NorCal big fella”.

In fact, Jim probably got the heads up from his brother ahead of time, and was probably on the phone strategizing with Martin before the trade even went down.

It’s okay little buddy, the Giants took care of that anyway.

Man, the gratitude of San Francisco fans is incredible. Way to kick a guy when he’s down. Glad we Hawks fans don’t talk like this about guys we have to cut.

Sad to see a guy loose his job, those fumbles in that championship game were tough. Wouldn’t wish that on anybody but they gave him another year and a half to make up for it. Hope he can continue his career somewhere
