Saints take a look at kickers with Hartley struggling

Garrett Hartley, Luke McCown AP

Apparently, the Saints are worried about scoring enough points.

While that sounds like a joke after they just dropped 49 on the Cowboys, they are worried about kicker Garrett Hartley at the moment, since he kept them from getting 52.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, they brought in a group of kickers including Shayne Graham, Neil Rackers and Derek Dimke Tuesday.

Hartley’s 16-of-22 on field goals this season, including 6-of-10 from 40-49 yards. But he’s missed four of his last six, including at least one each of the last three weeks.

Even if they don’t sign one, word of the workouts will get his attention.

So it’s the usual tour of kickers in New Orleans this week. Were in Houston last week. I wonder if they car pull.

Doesn’t matter. Brees is going to light up the niners like a christmas tree. Kaepernick will have his usual deer-in-the-headlights look all game long.

Whatever it takes to get Garrett Hartley’s attention ! You can’t keep missing in this league and expect to keep your job. I’ll always be thankful that he kicked us into the Superbowl, but this really is a “What have you done for me lately” league.

Aw, shucks, you really got us with that one! And with original and spontaneous thought, too! That’ll show us!

Hartley is rocking a 72.7% FG percentage, or 29th in the league. Plus he’s only attempted 1 outside of 50, which he actually made outdoors. Dude is a head case who can’t kick at home inside of 50 yards out, of all things. I miss Morten.

I miss John Kasay. He did an awesome job for the Saints and didn’t miss inside 40 yards all season in 2011.

Bring John Kasay out of retirement. Please.

Plan on drafting Cairo Santos next year. That dude is awesome and already kicks in the Superdome.

What’s your point? The saints coach sat out a year and is still better than your team.
