Jason Pierre-Paul not sure if he’ll play this week

Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka said it is up to the Giants defense to carry the team while quarterback Eli Manning tries to dig himself out of his season-long slump and they may have to do the carrying without the help of defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.

Pierre-Paul hurt his shoulder last Sunday against the Raiders, limiting him for most of the game after getting a sack during a strong first quarter. Pierre-Paul didn’t practice on Wednesday, won’t practice on Thursday and said that he won’t rush back into the lineup unless he feels he can play a complete game.

“I’m still pretty sore,” Pierre-Paul said, via the Newark Star Ledger. “My shoulder just hurts. That’s it. It’s getting better and better. I’m not practicing. I don’t know about the game. I’m just going day-by day. Once it stops hurting me, I’ll play. I’ll see how it feels Sunday. I’m not going to rush back for no reason. I’m not going to go out there unless I feel comfortable and I feel I can play the whole game, not half a game.”

Pierre-Paul had back surgery this offseason and returned in time to play the first game of the season, but has said several times that he doesn’t feel close to 100 percent healthy. His play has backed up that feeling, although things were looking a bit better the last couple of weeks.

He was back to being his old self for five seconds and then he busted his shoulder. He better go rescue a puppy or something quick, because his karma has been crap recently.

Wow. That means Scott Tolzien will have more time in the pocket to fail.

They should rest all their starters on defense this week. It’s not as if the Packers’ offense has any teeth.

You dont really need much of a D when you face the Packers. Giants will, once again, win easily.

I believe he also injured his taint in the game as well……

People are going to start to think his season 2 years ago was a fluke….

Lawrence Taylor played an entire game with one arm literally tied behind his back… and was effective.

JPP, if you’re the player you say you are, the standard has been set by your HOF team predecessor.
