No practice for Peyton Manning

Manning

The football-following world first knew that Peyton Manning has an ankle injury when he missed practice three days after getting banged around by the Colts.

The football-following world was reminded of the Peyton Manning ankle injury when he was hit low on Sunday by Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget.

Now, in a development that should surprise no one, Manning isn’t at practice.

He presumably will be listed as not participating due to an injured ankle. The team hasn’t specified the ankle but on Sunday it was the right leg that Liuget attacked. A report that both ankles are injured has prompted speculation that Manning simply doesn’t want anyone to know which angle is injured.

Or that he’s trying to provide cover for something else, like an injured shoulder.

Regardless, interim coach Jack Del Rio already has said that Manning definitely will play on Sunday night against the Chiefs.
