The 49ers got some good news from a pair of injured players Wednesday, giving them a chance to play this week.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, both tight end Vernon Davis and safety Eric Reid were cleared for non-contact work after suffering concussions last week against the Panthers.

Both players will still have to be cleared by an independent neurologist, and have several steps to get through before that happens. But getting them back in the weight room is a good sign they could still play this week against the Saints.
