Calvin Johnson misses second straight practice

Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson didn’t practice on Wednesday, but that wasn’t much cause for concern.

Johnson getting a rest day isn’t anything new, especially not since he suffered a knee injury that kept him out of one game earlier this season. Missing two days in a row is something different, however.

Johnson didn’t practice with his Lions mates again on Thursday, something that Tim Twentyman of the team’s website points out hasn’t happened in weeks. That at least makes one want to hear what the team or Johnson might have to say after practice about the condition of his knee as the team readies itself for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Nate Burleson is unlikely to make his return from a broken arm this week. While his presence wouldn’t make it any easier to play without Johnson, his absence would leave them even thinner if they find themselves without their biggest offensive weapon.

I dont think Rice missed a practice in 21 years.

HaHa, just fueling the fire. I think Megatron is a beast. I wish he was on my team.

If Calvin didn’t practice, Johnson should have. Isn’t that why he’s there (in those asinine commercials)?

Where’s Jerry Rice to SMH and say he never would have missed practice?

Actually he missed two practices in a row just a couple weeks ago.

i just traded Larry Fitz and Pierre Garcon for this punk.

He doesn’t need to practice, although it’s great he does! 80% Megatron is better then most 100% receivers. And even if he doesn’t play, Pitt is AFC. He is more valuable for conference and division games. this isn’t a must win even though it would be great if they do.
