For the first time since becoming a member of the team in March, Percy Harvin fully participated in a practice with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.

It’s just another sign that Harvin is closing in on his debut for the 9-1 Seahawks.

Harvin had been limited throughout the offseason even prior to the decision to have hip surgery on August 1. He had appeared sparingly in the team’s OTA’s that were open to the media and did not take part in their veteran mini-camp in June. Harvin was placed on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp before it became apparent Harvin would need surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.

Harvin first returned to practice three weeks ago for two days before having to take a step back once again as his hip got sore from his first football related work since June. Seattle had Harvin undergo another MRI to make sure everything was still on track and he’s continued to improve over the past two weeks while not being on the practice field.

Harvin was activated to the 53-man roster on Monday and head coach Pete Carroll said Harvin was ready to get back into practices on Wednesday.

“He feels 100 percent,” Carroll said. “He feels like he’s ready to go and go for it. He’s run really hard, I’ve seen him on the practice field a lot and watched him in his workouts, and he’s on it. It’s a pretty excited time so we’re all encouraged.”

Harvin appears to be on track to make his debut Sunday against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, this Sunday. Carroll has said throughout the process it’s a day-to-day process with Harvin. They’ve wanted to see how he handles the workload one day and how he feels the next day. If Harvin is able to practice full speed again Friday for Seattle, it could very well mean all systems are a go for Sunday’s game.
