Bengals won’t have Kevin Zeitler for date with Browns

2436855f71ad8a03f6a505cc5390f11f AP

The Bengals are down a guard for the Battle of Ohio.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler has been ruled out by Cincinnati as a result of the right foot injury he suffered against the Ravens last weekend. Zeitler has been in a walking boot and using crutches all week, so the decision doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

The Bengals will have a bye in Week 12, giving Zeitler another week to recover from his injury. Mike Pollak, who hasn’t played much in any role this season, will likely start in his place although the Bengals haven’t said anything official.

Defensive tackle Devon Still remains out for the Bengals. Defensive back Chris Crocker and linebacker Ray Maualuga are both doubtful to play and linebacker James Harrison was a Friday addition to the injury report. He’s questionable with a calf injury for a defense that will be shorthanded whether or not he’s able to get in the lineup.

The Bengals can start their reserves this week for their cakewalk over the Browns.

Well…. at least…. the Bengals didn’t draft that overrated guy who takes out his teammate’s knees.

He’s probably sick of getting hit in the back of the head with a noodle.

That suuucckks… Zeitler is a man beast.

Side note- What in the wild hell is going on with Still? All I’ve heard is an elbow injury, but I can’t remember the last time the guy played. Could really use a guy with his size to help fill a rotation with the loss of Geno.

Date? Are the browns and bengals going to share one ice cream soda with two straws? Sounds adorable.

Dalton has multiple dates w/ the ground.

Is that what happened in 4 when we beat them the first time?

    They need Malauga and mays

Just another reason for the Browns to dominate on Sunday.

What is with these Browns fans lately? Did all of the Steeler bandwagoners jump ship for Cleveland? You have a 4-5 team. Please stop talking like you have a great team.

Easy question to answer. It’s because Browns fans don’t really feel like it’s a 4-5 team. Four of the five losses have a lot to do with Brandon Weeden. Now that he’s out of the picture (barring injury to Campbell), fans are much more confident in the team because both Hoyer and Campbell have more or less proven they’re both a better fit for the Browns offense. Also, the Browns are only a muffed punt and dropped pass or two from having beaten the Chiefs- so, again, a reason for confidence. If not for Davone Bess’s embarrassing mistakes in the Chiefs game that arguably cost the Browns the win— and Weeden’s deer-in-the-headlights play in the 3 games he started, Cleveland could very easily be 8-1 or 7-2 right now. Browns fans know that and understand that, as long as Weeden doesn’t play, the second half of the season gives much more reason for optimism than the first half did.

Also, give me a break. The AFCN is wide open and it’s not as if the Bengals have an insurmountable lead. The Ravens or Browns could be in 1st place in the AFCN in a heartbeat.

Oh, and yeah- I’m sure there are TONS of bandwagon Steelers fans jumping ship right now. Not surprising. That’s their nature.

Without question, the winner of this game will be in driver’s seat to win the division (and then go one-and-out in the playoffs).

Not sure about the rest of you, but I’m really pulling for the Browns to make the playoffs this season before their owner goes off to prison.

LOL @ Brown’s fans!!! There’s quite a few teams out there that could inflate their confidence by pointing out 2 or 3 “ifs.” It’s been a really good laugh for me tonight though to sense the sincerity in some of your posts!!

Does he really matter? The Browns have been dealing without a RG all season, and other than Weinke 2.0 (Weeden), it hasn’t mattered all that much.

Maybe when our RG comes back, we can send them that turnstile we were using to the Bengays. Maybe we could send them Weeden to replace Ginger Dalton, too.

Browns have gotten really lucky playing us when we have key guys injured. We had Hall and Nelson out last time we played them, and now we have Hall and Atkins out for the season, and even more people out for this game. However, I think we beat the Browns this time. We are undefeated at home and we have a deep roster. Good news for us is with the late bye we have in week 12, we get a lot of injured guys back after the bye and go into the playoffs strong.

Although the BenGals like to think this is a date, the Browns are coming to open a can of whoopazz…

hey Bonnie..you want some cheese with that whine? The Browns have been dealing with injuries all year EVERY year and WE are always told “you can’t use that as an excuse” well you can’t either…

Browns fans are excited because our defense is damn good….yours is too. Should be a close game decided by turnovers
