Colin Kaepernick draws a fine

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had a miserable day all around against the Panthers.

The 49ers lost as Kaepernick threw for 91 yards and was sacked six times in a performance that led to criticism from Trent Dilfer of ESPN among others. And now his no good day is actually costing him some money.

PFT has confirmed with the league that Kaepernick has been fined for $7,875 for grabbing the facemask of Panthers linebacker A.J. Klein while trying to evade a sack. Kaepernick didn’t avoid the sack and the Panthers wound up declining the penalty called on Kaepernick.

A hit on Kaepernick also drew a fine from the league. Panthers safety Quintin Mikell was fined $7,875 as well for hitting a sliding Kaepernick in the third quarter of the game.

I was watching the game, and to me it looked like his hand got caught in kleins face mask..I don’t think it was intentional but you know the NFL is all about that c.r.e.a.m

Looks like the shine is starting to come off Kaep. I cant remember the last time Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, or Romo got fined.

Why weren’t the Seahawks fined for cheating?

Kaepernick very over rated RB, er, I mean QB.

I’d love to see the financial breakdown of Defensive vs Offensive fines this year. Seems to me Defenders need a cost of living increase in salary just to compensate for the high cost of plieing their trade.

    Joe Camel don’t care.

I don’t know football as well as the rest of you guys but since when did a facemask penalty draw a fine? Really, they gotta stop with this nonsense. His team was flagged on the field and he got sacked. That’s where it should end.

Maybe you can replace Alex Smith (9-0) with the 2nd round pick from the Chiefs. Idiots

    __________
Brady got fined after the AFC championship game last year … not so much for kicking Ed Reed, but for apologizing to Ed Reed for kicking him, which Ed made public.

*****Seahawks are in your head. Seriously, dude, I think you need help. Are there shrinks in Minnesota? P.S. your Vikings are gonna get demolished on Sunday*****

Let’s see…Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Romo. Wait…what…ROMO!?! I see what you’re trying to do there but let’s be real, one of these things is not like the others. Here’s a hint – it’s ROMO. Lay off the sizzurp. Oh, and Saints by 10.

Kaepernick should be fined for being so bad.

  18. assuredmutualdestruction says: Nov 15, 2013 6:05 PM

It’s the NFL’s only way to fine him for his horrific quarterback play.

Love all the haters!! Kaeps overrated..blah blah blah blah.. funny when u have no receivers you’re overrated. Brady looked like crap till gronk came back, manning has the best wr core in the league. We have the slowest skill players by far! Geez. And by the way panthers and cheifs have the best defenses this year.

    Overrated!

  21. gojags says: Nov 15, 2013 9:03 PM

Will the fines offset? The only guys benefiting out of these fines is the NFL.

  22. sportfanz says: Nov 15, 2013 9:48 PM

Dude has more potential than all the young QBs out there. Is he there yet…No. Will he get there…maybe… I’m willing to wait and see what he can do with a few good receivers around him. I think the haters forget he has only played 16 games to this point. Be patient haters, if Kap turns it around you will have to refocus the hate on Harbaugh.

When I watched this again it appeared his hand was caught in the mask. It looked like he was lucky some fingers were not broken. The entire play seemed inadvertent and he was not gripping the mask but struggled to free his trapped fingers. APPEAL !! and… More than half of the teams would be happy to have Kap and their fans would be giddy.

  24. averyrichfan says: Nov 15, 2013 10:38 PM

Fine was 100% justified, especially for this moron. He kept running, pulling Klein in a circle by the face mask while Klein tried to push his arm off. Kaepernick was just mad that his lame a…z…z kept getting sacked.

  25. roanboon says: Nov 15, 2013 10:45 PM

Surprised there are not more offensive facemasks called… or at least illegal hands to the face. Sometimes defenders’ heads can really get jarred backward or sideways.
