One of the Giants’ notable defensive starters was back on the practice field on Friday.
Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who sat out Wednesday and Thursday with a shoulder injury, took part in practice on Friday, multiple media outlets reported.
According to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, Pierre-Paul undertook some “light work” on the Giants’ final major day of practice leading up to Sunday’s game vs. Green Bay.
The 24-year-old Pierre-Paul has notched just 23 tackles and two sacks in nine games this season, numbers well off his past standards. That said, he did record a sack in Sunday’s win vs. the Raiders.Dormant for much of the season, the Giants’ pass rush has stepped up in the two games, recording a combined eight sacks.
The Giants have won three in a row since starting 0-6, and their defense has played a major role in their surge back into contention in the NFC East. The Giants are 1.5 games behind the 5-5 Cowboys and Eagles in the division race.
