When the week began, safety Ed Reed was a member of the Houston Texans and linebacker Ricky Sapp was a member of the New York Jets.

The week is coming to a close with Reed preparing for his first game with the Jets while Sapp is making his way to Houston. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans claimed Sapp off of waivers a day after the Jets let him go to make room for Reed.

Sapp was a fifth-round pick of the Eagles in 2010, but never played for them in a regular season game. He’s spent parts of the last three seasons with the Jets on both the practice squad and active roster. He played nine games in all for the Jets and recorded two tackles.

The Texans have had several injuries at linebacker in the last few weeks. Brian Cushing was lost for the season, while players like Joe Mays and Daryl Sharpton have been hindered by other injuries of late.

Per McClain, running back Ray Graham will be waived to make room for Sapp.
