Jason Snelling won’t play Sunday


Falcons reserve running back Jason Snelling will miss Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay, multiple media outlets, including, reported Saturday.

Snelling reportedly was arrested Friday morning on a marijuana charge in Winder, Georgia, which is about 50 miles east of Atlanta.

According to Vaughn McClure of, Falcons head coach Mike Smith indicated Snelling will return to the team on Monday after attending to some personal matters.

Snelling, 30, has rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries for the Falcons this season. He’s also caught 19 passes for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Snelling is listed as the Falcons’ third-string running back behind Steven Jackson and Jacquizz Rodgers.

    Of course he can’t play. The police report said he was caught eating his stash. He’ll be stoned till Monday morning.

    sounds like an “owner’s decision” than something that coach Smith decided on. either way, he’s not going to be able to return dealer’s “demo”, get insurance, a driver’s license and arrange for some clean urine by Monday!
