Seahawks retake lead against pesky Vikings

Marshawn Lynch AP

Heavy underdogs Sunday at Seattle, the Vikings are hanging in early against the NFC West-leading Seahawks. However, Seattle has edged to a 17-10 second-quarter lead on Marshawn Lynch’s second rushing TD of the game.

Lynch’s one-yard TD ended a nine-play, 79-yard drive that featured Percy Harvin’s first catch of his Seahawks career. The athletic 17-yard grab extended the Seahawks’ drive and moved Seattle into Vikings’ territory.

Earlier in the quarter, the Vikings tied the game at 10 on Christian Ponder’s 39-yard TD pass to receiver Jarius Wright. On the play, Ponder rolled right and threw deep for Wright, who got behind Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman.

The Seahawks held a 10-3 lead after one quarter, with Lynch’s four-yard score the only touchdown of the period.

Hey Seattle I thought Richard Sherman was the best CB in the league?

The best CB in the league gets burned by Jarius wright for a TD?

Maybe the adderol isn’t kicking in? Sherman isn’t focused

That was a NICE catch by Harvin!

  3. iheartharvin says: Nov 17, 2013 5:42 PM

Vikings should just throw it deep every play. The Seahawks secondary is mediocre when they can’t hold all the way down the field. Skol

Can we just cone to grips that Seattle isn’t all that great?

You guys are hilarious. Up 11, start with ball, Go Hawks.

It was a blown zone coverage, you idiot.

Xavier Rhodes smoked twice for huge gains, Harvin with a big catch to keep a scoring drive alive and a huge kickoff return to set up another TD.

Yeah, the Vikings really “won” that trade…

He’s on the sideline working out problems with his hip again. He’s not the percy of old. He looks smaller. He’s by far not in the same shape he was in last year.

The rest of the cheathawks are over-rated… Brees and the saints would eat them up I think.

at 9-1 or whatever your record is, and ours at 2-7… DOn’t you think you should be kickin our butts 35-3?

They still “pesky”? Getting rolled up.

The people that talk about Seattle holding absolutely have no clue what they are talking about. The Hawks use so much off zone coverage it reminds me of another defense that played the Tampa 2 awhile back.

Wagner had a pick and next Thurmond had a pick 6 because they have their eyes on QB bringing score to 38-13. Percy Harvin gave this game the spark after his big KR.

Guess we are kicking your Viking butts like u expected.. We gave up a cool plays yeah we’re still dominating your whole team except for two scoring drives drastically aided by penalty..

10-1 and getting better because of health..

  13. allidoiswin55 says: Nov 17, 2013 7:06 PM

Also what’s AD got today ?? Maybe we slept on a few routes if you looked at the oh tv highlight Richard Sherman is and has been the best cb in the league two plays don’t change that..

OK, if you’ve seen it in person it’s kind of cool.

But how many times do we have to se it on television?

Taking Seattle and giving the points is like taking candy from a baby from all you suckas.

  18. sweetnlow44 says: Nov 17, 2013 7:22 PM

Hey, the Vikings look pretty good against the Seahawks 3rd stringers and water boys. Only a 21 point game now…

  19. filthymcnasty1 says: Nov 17, 2013 7:53 PM

The Vikings are a terrible franchise, and have a losing record dating all the way back to the beginning of the millennium.

I hope the Seahawks fans can enjoy some of his talent before he either gets pissed off at his coach/teammates or gets hurts. He is a fun player to watch.

In today’s game, he had one great catch and a nice kick return. Not bad.

I predict he returns to the whiny ways that he had at Florida and in Minnesota once he realizes that he has to share catches with 2 other very good receivers. And then he will get hurt with some vague injury. And will have a couple migraines. But in between, there will be a game here and there that is sure fun to watch.

  21. mustang6984 says: Nov 17, 2013 8:57 PM

Sherman IS the best cornerback in the league. Notice how NO ONE else even comes close to him.
What was that final score again? How many INTERCEPTIONS did Seattle convert to points? How many points did Seattle score?

OOPs! Wanna towel for you Viking fans to wipe the egg off your sorry faces? Before you try and disparage a team, in a way that ANYONE will take seriously…be sure your team has a snowballs chance in hell of backing up your tripe!

As for Harvin…it was well known that he was going to see limited time on the field today. This is his first game in over a year. So expectation is there could be some tightness in muscles…not a big deal. In his small amount of time on the field…he sure made that trade look pretty lame for Minnesota.

Bottom line…you Minnesota fans ought to keep your pie-holes shut…so people don’t mistake you for ‘Frisco fans.

  22. hazelmn says: Nov 17, 2013 9:33 PM

Go ahead. Fall in love with Percy. The ratio of great games to inexplicable absences will be about 1:4.

You said it yourself. “This is his first game in over a year.” Brilliant, brilliant way to use up $13 million of cap space.

  23. mustang6984 says: Nov 17, 2013 9:47 PM

I can see you didn’t do too well in school…especially not in math. Better go back and look at the ratio of games started in his past.

Quit your whining about Mr. Harvin. You lost…and to be honest…you would have even had he sat out the game. Have some cheese with that whine?

Did anyone actually think the Vikes were going to steal one in Seattle?? come on man.

  25. kkalama1 says: Nov 18, 2013 1:24 AM

It’s funny to watch losers bitch around, only the broncos & maybe saints will contest the hawks. All other franchises we will own for years to come!!! Keep crying bitches….15-1 since last season & 13-0 at home!!!

  26. hazelmn says: Nov 18, 2013 9:02 AM

Am I arguing with you about the Vikings? No. They lost. They deserved to lose. We don’t have a good team right now. We are having seasons like the Hawks were having five years ago with their 4 and 5 win seasons. I hope we are back to the top in five years like Seattle is.

All I am saying is that you will have a love/hate relationship with Mr. Harvin. Using his name and “whine” in the same sentence, as you did, is actually quite appropriate.
