Texans turn back to Matt Schaub

Texans coach Gary Kubiak is back for the Texans and so is Matt Schaub.

Schaub replaced Case Keenum with the Texans down 28-17 in the fourth quarter. The decision was met with a round of boos from the crowd at Reliant Stadium, but Schaub turned those boos to cheers when he hit Andre Johnson for 23 yards. The drive amounted to nothing after a false start on fourth down forced the Texans to punt the ball away.

Keenum was 13-of-24 for 170 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the game. The team went three and out on their first three possessions of the second half while the Raiders scored two touchdowns to grab control of the game.

Switching quarterbacks can’t make the defense come up with a tackle against Rashad Jennings when he’s going 80 yards for a touchdown, but Kubiak is obviously hoping that it can spark something in his team. If Schaub can, he’ll probably get a return engagement in the starting lineup.
