The Falcons are carrying just two quarterbacks at the moment, and since one of them’s hurt, they’re looking for help.
With backup Dominique Davis limited in practice yesterday with a knee injury, the Falcons worked out veteran quarterbacks Trent Edwards and Mike Kafka, via multiple reports which PFT has confirmed.
Per a league source, the quarterbacks were joined by receivers Dominique Croom and Brandon Kaufman.
Davis had to leave Sunday’s blowout loss to the Buccaneers with the injury, meaning starter Matt Ryan had to go back in, since they had no other choices. The Falcons are carrying Seth Doege on the practice squad which is fine to get them through the week, but they’d need to make a roster move if Davis isn’t able to go Thursday night against the Saints.
Edwards and Kafka have at least been around long enough that they could capably execute professional plays in a short time, and the Falcons might need just that.
