Keim sees Fitzgerald as Cardinal for life

Weeks before the future of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger became a hot topic in NFL news, the man drafted eight spots before Roethlisberger found himself at the center of trade speculation.

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald wasn’t dealt before the trade deadline, and Cardinals G.M. Steve Keim told PFT Live on Wednesday that the Cardinals have no plans to ever see Fitzgerald play for anyone but the Cardinals.

It wasn’t the wink-nod “no intent” routine, like the one the Vikings unfurled regarding receiver Percy Harvin. Keim, who has had 15 years of stability with one of the league’s less stable franchises, was genuine and sincere in his proclamation that the Cardinals want to have Fitzgerald around.

Keim seemed to be genuine and sincere as to everything else he said during the interview, too, except for the part where he claimed that the hair ripped from running back Andre Ellington’s head will be used to craft wigs for Keim and coach Bruce Arians, who share a hairstyle.
