Leonard Hankerson out for season

Wide receiver Santana Moss shared some of his thoughts on accountability on Wednesday, but it will be a while before fellow Redskins wideout Leonard Hankerson has a chance to try them out for himself.

Coach Mike Shanahan said at his Wednesday press conference that Hankerson will have surgery on his knee after injuring his LCL in last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles. Hankerson will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season and opening up a roster spot in Washington.

Hankerson had 30 catches, 375 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games this season. He was coming off of two of his better games of the season when he was hurt in Philadelphia.

Shanahan also announced that Josh Morgan will start in Hankerson’s place. Morgan recently said that he saw “no particular reason” why his playing time had decreased this season, but he won’t be able to say the same thing about his return to the lineup.

Shanahan also confirmed that defensive lineman Adam Carriker returned to practice. Shanahan said he believed in miracles when talking about Carriker’s chances of reaching the active roster this season.

Ive been a redskin fan for 30 yrs and im appalled at some of the skins fans of today. RG3 is in his second year after having the greatest rookie season by a qb ever the fans are basically calling him a bum. He tore his knee up had to rehab the whole off season, did no football work just mental reps. He’s playing behind one of the worst o lines who avg 305 pds and cant pass protect against 350 pd d tackles. He has taken an enormous amount of brutal hits. Has only one decent wr in Garcon and an up and coming te in Reed. All that being said he’s 23 and to hear the fans tell it he’s done. There truly is an infinite amount of stupidity in this world.

Hank was coming around this year I felt. It’s too bad another season cut short.

the hit that injured him was a pretty lame play on the part of the eagles player (im not a fan of either team)

hankerson was clearly going down and the other eagle guy dove in full speed into the hit and clipped his leg at an awkward angle

“There truly is an infinite amount of stupidity in this world”

That’s a statement that no one can argue with.

I agree but one must also say RG3 could use a lesson in accountability and humility.

Lay off being the team leader and all those commercials until you’ve earned it on the field. He is a victim of his own hype. That’s why most criticize him.

A season of crushed dreams gets a little worse.

As a Cowboys fan its always nice to see the rest of the division share in meired mediocrity.
