The Oakland Raiders re-signed defensive tackle Brian Sanford and activated linebacker Miles Burris from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday.

The roster spots were available due to the placing of cornerback D.J. Hayden on injured reserve and the release of linebacker Martez Wilson.

Burris started 15 of 16 games for the Raiders and racked up 96 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception as a rookie last season. Burris had knee surgery this offseason and began the season on the physically unable to perform list. He returned to practice for the Raiders on Oct. 30 and had to be activated by the team this week.

Sanford has played four games for the Raiders this season while making one start this season. He’s recorded seven tackles on the year.
