Roethlisberger wins AFC offensive player of the week award

Ben

Maybe NFL Network should stir up controversy about Ben Roethlisberger every week.

In the first game after a week of relentless reports regarding his future, the Steelers quarterback not only beat the supposedly superior Lions, who haven’t won in Pittsburgh since 1955, but also secured the AFC offensive player of the week honors.

He completed 29 of 45 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns. The performance generated a passer rating of 119.4.

More importantly, Roethlisberger engineered a 97-yard drive after a failed fake field goal attempt to take a 30-27 lead.

Roethlisberger hadn’t won the player of the week award since Week Eight of the 2011 season. So, yeah, more reports of Roethslisberger not being happy or wanting to be traded might be a good idea.
