While the Chicago Bears will be without quarterback Jay Cutler this week against the St. Louis Rams, defensive end Shea McClellin may be back after missing the last two games with a strained hamstring.
According to Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com, McClellin is expected to return to practice for the Bears this week.
“Shea should get out this week and start working on Wednesday,” head coach Marc Trestman said.
McClellin was coming off his best performance of the season against the Green Bay Packers when he suffered the injury in practice. McClellin posted three sacks and five tackles in a 27-20 win over the Packers at Lambeau Field. It was McClellin’s first sacks of the season outside of a half sack in the Bears’ season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.
If McClellin can make it through the week of practice without issues he should have a chance to be available against the Rams on Sunday.
