Giants plan to play physical against Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant has been a destructive force against opposing defenses so far this season for the Dallas Cowboys.

Bryant is tied for sixth in the league in receiving touchdowns with eight so far this year and is averaging over 14 yards a reception.

However, the New York Giants feel they have an idea as to how to slow Bryant down.

According to Justin Raanan of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Giants plan to get physical with Bryant at the line of scrimmage.

Get your hands on him,” safety Will Hill said. “He doesn’t like to be touched, like most receivers in this league. But really him. He doesn’t like to be touched.”

Cornerback Prince Amukamara shared the same sentiment.

“You just have to be physical with him,” Amukamara said. “He’s a big guy. You just have to use his medicine against him. I think that is the key.”

Hill said Bryant is a physical receiver once he gets the ball in his hands. However, it’s when he’s trying to get into his routes that the Giants feel they can disrupt him and cause issues for the Cowboys receiver.

The matchup between Bryant and the New York secondary should be a critical one in a highly important game for both teams and their hopes of winning the NFC East.

  1. If the plan is anything other than sack Romo or force him to take the underneath by giving him no time. They’ll not care much for the results I’m afraid.

  2. Whatever the merit of the Giants’ plan is against Dez Bryant — it would have been more effective if they didn’t basically giftwrap it to their opponent well in advance of the game.

  3. Awesome strategy, I’m looking for the Giants to dominate the Cowboys and win their 5th straight….NFC East better watch out after starting 0-6 to open up the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if they win the division.

Brace for another Dez outburst on the sidelines!

  4. The OL of Dallas is so herendous, all they need is to get a jam on him for a solid second. That should be enough to disrupt the play and let Tuck and JPP get to Romo.

    This is a big game.
    Eagles need a Giants win.

  5. What, is this some sort of secret? They always do, and he never really destroys the game. It’s Witten and the underneath stuff that the Giants focus on with this team. Bryant only gets deep if someone slips.

Eagles need an EAGLES win against two real defenses (finally), or what happens in the Dallas/Giants game won’t matter.
