Kubiak may be upstairs again this week

Kubiak

As the Texans try to avoid getting in position for the first overall pick in the draft (which may not be such a bad thing), coach Gary Kubiak could remain in an unconventional position when he shows up for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.

Kubiak told reporters Thursday that he may be coaching from the press box, for the second straight game.

“We talked about it last night,” Kubiak said. “We’ll probably talk about it again tomorrow. Let me see. I’m in a battle.”

He said an answer as to whether he’ll be back on the sidelines will come on Friday.

“I’d love to, but we’ll see,” Kubiak said. “I’ll let you guys know tomorrow.”

The Texans have lost eight straight games, for the first time in franchise history. A loss to the 1-9 Jaguars will put the Texans in a tie for last place in the AFC South. Two weeks from tonight comes the rematch, in what could be the worst prime-time, nationally-televised game in the history of professional sports.
