Wells will interview Incognito today or tomorrow

Now that suspended guard Richie Incognito has agreed to delay his grievance hearing pending completion of Ted Wells’ independent investigation, Wells can interview Incognito.

Per a league source, the interview is expected to happen on Thursday or Friday.

It’s unclear how long the investigation will last beyond the Incognito interview.  Follow-up sessions, possibly with tackle Jonathan Martin, are likely.

Meanwhile, Incognito apparently has received something in exchange for his agreement to postpone the hearing.  For now, it’s not known what Incognito gets, but based on the pieces of information we’ve shaken from the shrubs so far it appears that Incognito may have a chance to actually rejoin the Dolphins.

Looking at the situation with a broader lens, we’re told that it’s fair to regard the agreement as a favorable sign for Incognito moving forward.  While that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be vindicated by the investigation, the decision to postpone the hearing should be viewed not as a sign of weakness but confidence.

Hopefully Ted Wells doesn’t user the Glazer script. A guy with a mustache like that I expect he’s going to at least try to challenge Incognito with some pressing questions about what the heck is going on. I mean for real what is going on. I hope Ted Wells isn’t amused by playing games.

I think Miami had to react when they were presented with the voicemail. The suspension was a result of that as well as some other behavior issues Incognito has had recently. After additional information was received (Martin’s own messages of similar content and the public statements from teammates) the Dolphins now know that the original story is not as accurate as they thought. They will probably reduce the fine aspect to 1 game and bring him back next week after they get a grasp of the data Wells digs up.

It is certain to end with Icognito finishing the season in Miami and Martin being given his release which is how all this started. Martin will sign with the Philadelphia Eagles and have an excellent career. Icognito will cut next year and finich his career with the Raiders.

Jonathan Martins case is falling apart; and so is the some of the medias credibility.

But what about the Dolphins clubhouse attendant? There were multiple witnesses to that, were there not. In other news, Martin seems to have gone incognito.

“Martin will sign with the Philadelphia Eagles and have an excellent career.”

You do realize that Martin is not a very good player, right? That coupled with the question marks around the handling of this situation (right or wrong) means I doubt any team is lined up for his services.

Good luck to the Philadelphia Eagles if he does join them. He isn’t very good at all, that’s been half the Dolphins problem all along. Just go away, we don’t want to hear about him anymore.

“Meanwhile, Incognito apparently has received something in exchange for his agreement to postpone the hearing. …”

Absolutely. I strongly suspect he received something involving food, perhaps a really, really good submarine sandwich with ham, salami, and whatnot.

Sure funny that the lead investigator and the lead suspect are reportedly going to meet either today or tomorrow……..I hope they know when this meeting is supposed to occur……

Richie will know who Wells is, no matter what disguise he uses.

No one, besides these sad fellows above me, cares about this anymore. I don’t care so much that I was compelled to post. Seems counterintuitive, but someone had to say it. You’re as bad as ESPN. Move on.

It is? I’d like some details please. You know, like actual evidence other than Richie saying; “We was best friends, Jonathan and I!”

If anything the case against Incognono has gotten stronger with the clubhouse employee’s allegation.

Bring Richie back. He’s already had a penalty

    Status quo is perfect outcome.

Or maybe none of the above.

They may have told Richie to wait or be cut now.

Speculate all you want but Richie is not gonna walk away unscathed.

Philly fans are tough and not afraid to speak out. I’m not so sure that is a soft landing place for a guy who gets his feelings hurt so easily.

  19. officialgame says: Nov 21, 2013 10:23 PM

You do realize that Martin came out early and was rushed into the starting lineup by a bad organization before he was ready to justify taking him in the 2nd round. Then to make matters worse they sic mad dog Richie Icognito on him. Put Martin in a good organization and give him a year to develop and he will excel. The man has talent and smarts and will become a solid NFL lineman.

I love Richie and we have his back in NJ

  21. promickey says: Nov 22, 2013 7:32 AM

Well the Martin’s case does seem to be no where unless another dynamic appears. I said from the beginning Martin is a big baby who just wants out from the Dolphins. He wants to be a free agent. He will never play LT in the NFL but perhaps his Mom and Dad have made him delusional.

Jeff Ireland evaluated Martin as a LT in the NFL…
and so it goes with the Dolphins.

OK, how about the VM that Martin released was edited to remove some content that showed it to be in jest rather than the vile hate it was presented as…or several players (not just Incognito) saying that the two were friends combined with several recent photos that corroborate their stories…or the fact that Martin never mentioned anything was wrong or opposed the behavior in any way…or the messages that showed Martin himself doing the same things he is complaining about…or the fact that Martin pulled the lunchroom running joke on Garner the week prior to having a breakdown when it was done to Martin…or the messages from Martin himself (sent after he left) that specifically state he had no problem with anyone on the team and that he was just having a hard time…there are more but if you can’t see the point here then you simply don’t want to.
