As the Jaguars head to Houston in an effort to blow the inside track to the first overall pick in the draft, they won’t have defensive end Jeremy Mincey to help them win/lose/whatever.

According to John Oesher of the team’s official website, Mincey was left in Jacksonville due to a violation of team rules.

The absence won’t hurt as much as it would have in recent years. A full-time starter in 2011 and 2012, Mincey has made seven appearances and no starts in 2013, the first season for coach Gus Bradley.

It’s not know what Mincey did to prompt the decision to not bring him along for the game against the 2-8 Texans.
