The Packers put cornerbacks Casey Hayward and James Nixon on injured reserve Saturday, the club said.

The 24-year Hayward was limited to three games in 2013 because of hamstring issues after intercepting six passes the previous campaign. Hayward was one of the Packers’ two second-round picks in 2012.

Nixon, 25, appeared in three games this season. He did not practice this week because of a knee injury.

The Packers now have 11 players on injured reserve. They have five cornerbacks on the roster: Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Micah Hyde, Davon House and Jarrett Bush.

To fill the roster spots vacated by Hayward and Nixon, the Packers activated defensive end Jerel Worthy and safety Sean Richardson from the physically unable to perform list.

Worthy, 23, had suffered an ACL tear at the end of the 2012 regular season. He appeared in 14 games for the Packers as a rookie last season, notching 14 tackles and 2.5 sacks. A Michigan State product, Worthy was the other of the Packers’ second-round selections in 2012.

Richardson played five games for Green Bay in 2012 before suffering a season-ending neck injury. He is a second-year pro from Vanderbilt.
